A not-to-be-missed opportunity to develop your business, meet like-minded entrepreneurs and learn from the best

Stuck for inspiration or ideas with your business? Maybe you are looking to scale and grow your business or trade/export for the first time? Sometimes it takes a meeting of minds to get you on your way - and a friendly push from an old friend you haven’t met yet.

A rare opportunity for a sponsored week of learning and growth

GlobalWelsh is offering a unique opportunity for ambitious, growing businesses to receive exclusive access to one of the biggest global success stories in manufacturing: Pelican Products, Inc.

The week-long programme will give ambitious entrepreneurs the chance to experience life in a global manufacturing business, as well as access to key learnings and insights from all elements of the Pelican business: international business, operations, product management, IT, customer services, sales and marketing.

The team that’ll make your dream work

You’ll get the chance to talk about the challenges in your business and receive practical guidance and support on your next steps. You’ll receive a rare opportunity to meet with global business experts as well as other entrepreneurs on their own journey in a close, positive and supportive environment.

The aim of the ‘Meet the Makers’ initiative is to create a peer-mentoring group of ambitious individuals who will benefit most from this opportunity - and encourage and push others to work to their highest potential.

In all, six lucky candidates will benefit from a hosted opportunity at Pelican’s global headquarters in Torrance, near Los Angeles. You will receive direct access to tenets of Pelican’s business that make it a global success and benefit from workshop sessions with experts from Pelican’s executive team.

All the learnings and insights you receive from the sessions will be delivered in a way which can be applicable and transferable to your business and candidates are encouraged to ask questions and share their own examples and experiences along the way.

But it won’t all be hard work...

You’ll also get the chance to unwind and see the surrounding area alongside five other ambitious entrepreneurs you will undoubtedly learn from. Torrance is situated in the South Bay region of LA County, with more than 1.5 miles of beaches on the Pacific Ocean. Pelican is located approximately 20 minutes from Los Angeles Airport.

About GlobalWelsh Academy

About ‘Meet the Makers – Sponsored by Pelican Products’

‘Meet the Makers’ is an intensive programme of learning and mentoring at the headquarters of Pelican Products, Inc in Torrance, California. The initiative is being entirely hosted and funded by CEO Lyndon Faulkner, a member of the GlobalWelsh community, who has more than 25 years of experience at the helm of international businesses in the United States.

The week-long programme is one of the first exclusive opportunities emerging from the ‘GlobalWelsh Academy’ - an annual programme of intimate talks, mentoring opportunities and knowledge transfer events driven by the expertise and experience within Wales’ growing diaspora community. The GlobalWelsh Academy is unique in that the contents and expertise of our Academy events are not decided by GlobalWelsh, but driven very much by our community. As such, we are not bound to any particular agenda or political discourse.

We believe community members should feel free to communicate the real, unedited challenges facing Wales, without fear of ostracisation or reprisal. Our community members represent a wide variety of causes, interests and political persuasions. The GlobalWelsh Academy does not believe that our members’ political persuasions should prohibit them from participating in our events and programmes. We are driven by a common purpose: helping Wales and our members succeed, using the skills and talents of our global community.
