GlobalWelsh supports Welsh Government's Ministerial Visit to Boston

05 Nov, 2026

Last month Welsh Government Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, Adam Price MS, led a ministerial visit to Boston, USA. We were proud to be asked to support the visit by leveraging the GlobalWelsh network in the region network to create valuable international connections for Wales.

Mobilising the Welsh diaspora

When requested to connect the Minister with prominent Welsh business leaders in the Boston area, GlobalWelsh reached out to our community in the region - including our on the ground hub, GlobalWelsh USA. Prior to the visit, we set up individual pre-briefing meetings with each connection to provide updates on Welsh Government’s activities, align on objectives and ensure high-impact discussions were had.

Following these briefings, we facilitated direct introductions between a range of business leaders and Adam Price’s team. We are pleased to hear that these meetings were a success and that meaningful dialogue is ongoing with regards to possible inward investment opportunities.

Strengthening trade and investment links

The broader Boston visit spanned engagements at Harvard, MIT, and Greentown Labs, as well as meetings with key investors in sectors ranging from life sciences and semiconductors to renewable energy. By connecting our diaspora network with Adam and his team GlobalWelsh has helped reaffirm current relationships and foster new links that drive economic growth and trade outcomes back home.

We look forward to continuing this type of collaboration with the Welsh Government in the future and opening up a world of opportunities that the diaspora can bring to Wales.
