Young Franco-Welsh skier seeks sponsorship...
- Closes: 30 Sep 2019
- Location: Wales
- Status: completed
My name is Edouard, I am a, nearly 18 yrs old, Franco-Welsh Alpine skier living in France (mum British, dad French). I am in the Welsh Elite Team and BRITISH ALPINE FIS SQUAD since July 2018. I was also selected to Team GB for the European Youth Olympic Festival in Sarjarevo, February 2019. My goal is to represent Team GB at World Cup level and eventually at the Winter Olympic Games in 2022 or 2026.
Season 2018/19 I finished GB U18 n°1 in Slalom and n°3 in GS, Super G and , at the British Champs in Tignes, I came 3rd overall Junior (U21) and 2nd overall U18 in the National Junior Champs, and 3rd= overall U18 skier in the National Senior Champs.
There is no official GBSnowsport funding at this level and my year ski training & racing costs in the region of £25 000. This is a sum that my family cannot fund without help. So, since last May, we have been, and are continually, seeking financial support from friends, family and corporate sponsors.
Snowsport Wales support me as much as possible, and I was one of the recent Sports Aid Cymru Wales award recipients. You will find a long article about me on their home page: http://www.sportsaidwales.cymru/
But unfortunately this is not enough to help me fulfil my dreams.
At the moment I have several small local French businesses sponsoring me (representing the French link), so what I am looking for now is some Welsh help and I am looking for Welsh businesses who may be able to offer me some corporate sponsorship.
At the moment I can't offer much more than a BIG THANK YOU, however, in a small way I can offer advertising exposure/thanks on my bio page on the GBSnowsport website and we could discuss other options too.
Thank you for reading this far. If you'd like any further info, please get in touch.
