As we embark on the festive season, we wanted to shine a light on nine wonderful Welsh businesses to celebrate the unique creations they bring to life and offer you some inspiration as you get ‘cwtchy’ this winter (or summer ;))…

Eisa Tea Co.

Eisa Tea Co. is a female-owned business based in Aberystwyth and founded by Swansea-born Amy Aed. This globally connected brand ethically sources its teas from small family farms across China, Japan, and India, while shipping internationally to bring its exquisite offerings to tea lovers worldwide. Eisa Tea also crafts stunning hand-made tea sets and matcha bowls.

Keith Brymer Jones

How about a mug for your tea? Keith Brymer Jones, a renowned London-born potter, brings style and charm to the every day with his hand-finished kitchenware and homeware. His popular Word Range combines clean, modern design with a playful touch adding character to any cosy home. 

Recently, Keith and his wife began a new adventure in Pwllheli, North Wales, transforming a historic chapel into their studio and home. Embracing the local culture, they are even learning Welsh as part of their journey.

Adra Home 

Founded in 2007 by Angharad Gwyn, Adra showcases the beauty and creativity of Wales through stylish, carefully curated homeware and gifts. Honest Love Our Planet 

Based in Ebbw Vale, Honest Love Our Planet creates one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly baubles that are 100% biodegradable. Each piece is handcrafted from recycled paper and painted by hand using plant-based, organic dyes and paints. Because of their handmade nature, every bauble is unique, with slight variations in patterns and colours adding to their charm.

Calon Home 

Founded in 2019 by Julia Lewis Calon Home, based in Llanelli, began with handmade candles and home fragrances crafted at her kitchen table. Since then, the business has flourished, now boasting nearly 30 stockists across Wales and overseas.

Originally born in England, Julia has embraced Wales as her home since moving to Swansea for university in 1997. Her passion for the Welsh language is woven into Calon Home's products and packaging, reflecting her deep connection to Welsh culture.

Driftwood Designs

Driftwood Designs, based in Aberystwyth with additional locations in Cardiff and Aberaeron, offers a wide range of gifts, homewares, prints, and cards. The company was founded in 2012 by childhood friends Lizzie Spikes and Becky Barratt, who began by creating cards and prints featuring Lizzie’s original artwork.

What started on Becky’s kitchen table has grown into a thriving Welsh design business, producing unique and vibrant collections that celebrate their passion for creativity.

Situated in a 200-year-old former flour mill in Pembrokeshire, FelinFach is an independent company celebrating wool in all its forms. From hand-woven timeless Welsh blankets and throws to hand-dyed yarn and natural dyeing workshops, FelinFach embodies the ethos natural, traditional, and handmade.

Founded by Karen Morgan, a self-taught designer and dyer, FelinFach is rooted in passion and craftsmanship. Karen’s expertise shared through workshops in the UK and North America, has made FelinFach a hub for crafters and creators. Every yarn and scarf is hand-dyed with natural dyes, blending tradition with artistry.

Founded by Katie Tancock-Jones, Melyn Welsh Beeswax Candles is a business born from a passion for creating sustainable, climate-friendly candles made from locally sourced Welsh beeswax. Originally a therapeutic hobby, Katie’s candle-making journey began after receiving a kit from her husband when she became a mother.

Now based in Llanelli, Katie has turned this creative outlet into a business. With a strong belief in sustainability and a Welsh-centric ethos, her candles offer a unique way to connect with Wales, even from afar, without breaking the bank.
